Correction on Training / My Fault / Saturday is Different

THIS IS A CORRECTION!

PAR Training:  Session 1 and 2
When:            Tuesday, July 22, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
                      @ Oak Grove MS
Tues.              Rule 4, Plus More
and                 Saturday, July 26, 10:00  - 11:30 am
                      @Gibbs High School
Sat.:               Rules 1 & 2
Tues and Sat: They are two separate meetings. They are different.

I apologize for the mis-communication about Saturday. Saturday is not the same as last night (Tuesday). From July 22 thru August 26, all topics will be met. Then, on September 6 thru October 18, we will do it again. The Tuesday night meeting was an important one. Among many of the topics, we discussed was Rule 4, which is the most important chapter in the rule book.  That meeting will be repeated on September 16 if you missed it last night.

Training Ground Rules:
  • Please be prompt. Times were selected to give you time to be there when we start the meeting.
  • Don't come empty handed. Important topics will be discussed. Bring a pad, pencil and rule books.
  • Please do not interject a lot during the meeting. The session is timed to cover certain points the first hour. Write down questions or comments, etc:
  • During the last half hour, we will entertain questions, comments etc:
Note:

The meetings were designed for the St Pete area and for somewhere in north county. Originally we were to meet at the Countryside library. Unfortunately, they had no board or AV equipment. This past weekend I received permission to make the change to Oak Grove. We are looking for a site in the north county area for future meetings, however Oak Grove has everything we need. Hopefully, for those in central to north county, you will see it as a great location. Anyone that can find another meeting site, for future meetings, call me. I am open to suggestions. It would be great to have a board or AV equipment.
Last, it is extremely important for any officials between 1-3 years to get an early start on training. I hope to see many officials off to an early start this Saturday.

Gibs High School
Around 9:50 am, we will meet in the front parking lot by the gym door. From there we will go to a classroom.

PAR's Annual Ref Camp

Our 2nd annual Ref Camp has come and gone, congratualtions to Largo who took home the coveted trophy!  The Board would like to thank Pecorelli and his crew for conducting the trainings and Terry Jones and his crew for handling the evaluations.  We couldn't have pulled it off without you.

If you didn't make it out you missed a great training opportunity.  For you 1st and 2nd year officials that stayed home this was a good chance for you to be seen by our new booking commissioner.  So if you are wondering why you aren't getting more "next level" games once the season starts look at yourself first before you start bad mouthing the BC.

Kudos to all the other members that came out and participated.  Let us know what you thought, any improvments we should think about making next year.  Stayed tuned to the website for more upcoming trainings!

House Rules

Do us all a favor and make sure we follow the below rules...

- Respect others
- Don't hate
- Don't use language you wouldn't use with your mom

More Topics

If you can think of any topics you want to see discussed let me know by emailing me (ablevins@operpar.org) and I will get them on the site so they can be discussed.
